If you're interested in one of our open positions, start by reaching out to anyone in Union Leadership. A new era of Union representation is here and your support is wanted!
• Effective July 1, 2023, new laws will be implemented that will change the way unions will be operated. Every current and future member of AFSCME will have to fill out a new membership card.
• Law will also require for Unions to be at 60% membership, if the Local falls below that percentages it will require in an annual basis for locals to apply for recertification, go thru audits and elections to ensure employees are interested in keeping the Union. It will also change the way dues payment are collected; we are seeking alternative options to address these requirements.
• AFSCME Organizer: Lisa Burke has been appointed our new Local Union Representative. Lisa can be reached at: Cell – 863 528-8969.
• AFSCME PEOPLE!!!: The AFSCME People program is an additional resource for members to contribute to and help build the strength of our union on a statewide basis. These contributions go towards supporting political candidates who fight for the interests of working families. WWW.AFSCME.ORG/PEOPLE
